I recently returned home from visiting my sister and nephews in Australia with a tupperware full of eucalyptus leaves stashed in my bag. These Australian eucalyptus have a depth of colour and a perfume that I just haven't found in eucapytus foraged or bought here in the UK. The gorgeous irridescense and shimmer of the leaves brought to mind a peacock's resplendent plummage so I endeavoured to recreate that. I used allium stems topped by hairy eyes and attached these using gold thread to add extra shimmer to the piece.

  • A 19.25 x 15.25" black and gold frame encloses a 12" x 16" oval embroidery hoop set in a cream-coloured mount (not framed behind glass)
  • White tulle
  • Can be hung using the picture hanging on the back 
  • The works are not behind glass so you can appreciate the work's natural relief, texture, and sometimes the smell!
