This piece incorporates a full moon comprised of six species and trees with delicate yellow fowers. Older blue gum eucalyptus leaves have been embroidered onto the piece with gold thread. The leaves have begun to show signs of decay with darker spots and brown patches appearing to emulate a forest floor. The background is formed from layers of card peeled back to expose the patchy grey colour with white speckles formed into cloud shapes.

  • A 12.5" square black frame encloses a 10" circular wooden embroidery hoop. The piece projects out of the frame and is not behind glass
  • The overall depth is around 5cm. The flowers project out of the frame—the artwork is not behind glass so you can appreciate the work's natural relief, texture, and sometimes the smell!
  • Black tulle on a black and gray storm-inspired background created from card. There is texture and roughness to the background
  • Can be hung using the sawtooth picture hanging on the back

Not quite right?

If you'd prefer a piece was behind glass that can be arranged at additional cost. If you'd like a different colour background, or no background at all, just let me know.
